I got back from New York a couple of weeks ago now, but I only just got round to getting my photos developed.
I decided to take a disposable kodak camera with me to New York rather than taking a digital camera or using the camera on my phone. I know it’s a lot easier to just use a digital camera because you can see the photos straight after you’ve taken them, and if they don’t come out well then you can quickly snap another one; but that’s the reason why I always like taking disposable cameras with me on holiday - it makes it so much more exciting for when you get home and you can get the pictures developed to see how they turned out! :D
Anyway, here are some of the pictures!
Jazza on a typical street in NYC - I love the shape of the mail boxes in America.

Jazza and Liane!

Jazza and I… We’re in love <3

… except not really, but how cute do we look?! :P
HEY?! What’s that up there?!

Central park is SO PRETTY!

The whole concept of having a giant park in the middle of a city with loads of high-rise buildings is just amazing! I loved being in Central Park - it was like being inside a nice peaceful nest, hidden away from the hustle and bustle of the city.

NYPD cars! :D

Times Square with Jazza, Kristen and Todd :)

My gosh I love giraffes :P

(we were in F.A.O. Schwarz which is the huge Toy Store in NY)
The next couple of pictures are from when Jazza and I went to Warped Tour.
Look how close to the stage we were for A Day To Remember! They were so freakin good!

There was also a band from the UK on the Hurley stage just before ADTR, called TAT, and they were also amazing! They were the hidden gem of the tour for me :)
Trying to figure out how to use chop sticks… I still suck at using them.
I’m not sure why I’m pouting, but YAY for Johnny Durham lighting in this picture! ;)

The WALK : DON’T WALK signs in America are so cool!

I love this next picture <3

So, that’s all for the New York photos. There were lots of other pictures, but I just wanted to post a few of the better ones here in my blog.
Oh! I had a few pictures to use up when I got back from New York though, so I took the camera on a night out with me when I was at home with a few of my friends. Here is a picture of me with my friend Helen. I don’t even remember this picture being taken… I think I might have been ever-so-slightly drunk. Funtimes though :D

I’ve got something exciting to announce on Friday this week, so… stay tuned :D
Much love,
Johnny <3

Hey Johnny!
All your pictures look awesome. New York looks so cool, I’ve never had the chance to go, though :(

Your pictures have a dreamlike quality to them! Whenever I use a disposable camera, they turn out a bit weird… (ok, ugly).

Film pictures still make me super-excited, probably because they’re so rare now. I’m glad my best friend still refuses to abandon them.
There’s something about Central Park that makes you feel like a happy kid (and a bit of a hippy), so I love that picture of you two holding hands. It’s so sweet and innocent, like two children trying to find their way around.
Really, I can’t think of many places better than New York City to get lost in with some great friends. Love the pics! I think everyone gets too close to the toys at FAO Swartz!

There is something in the colour/exposure of disposable camera photos that just makes them feel, well, better. The other thing that would annoy me is the quantity limit.
You and Jazza, so very cute.

Ohh, I love the photos, J! It looks like you really had a great time - and NYC looks amazing. I really, really want to go some day, and experience it myself.
I feel the same way about film cameras - but I do also adore my 450D xD I’m planning on having some of my digital photos developed though - I love having memories on the wall like that.
I think my favorites are the one of you and Jazza and the one of you and Helen. The one of Jazza and you is just too cute(!). And I think the photo of you and Helen shows a side of you that we (subscribers, followers, fangirls/-boys, stalkers, visiters, acquaintances, etc.) only get to see very rarely :) So I really like that one as well.
All in all - what a pleasant entry ^^

That’s true, what you said about film cameras!
I took a digital and manual camera along with me to New York, seeing as I was there because of my AS Photography course. =)
I had to process the film myself though, so I was panicking a lot doing that… they all seem to have come out nicely by looking at the negatives, can’t wait to get in the darkroom and see them properly in September!

I still can’t over how different you look with a face. I’m very glad you had such a good time! I saw this picture on Geekologie today and I instantly thought of you! (It’s a picture of robot cupcakes, pinkie-swear)

The first time I went to New York I brought my film camera. Those for the most part are my favorite pictures I’ve taken during a trip anywhere. Of course I also managed to take about five rolls worth of pictures so I had a lot to choose from.
Why are the walk/don’t walk signs so interesting? I don’t get that one.

Oh also you are Jazza are adorable in that one picture.

God, your disposable camera pictures turned out great - mine are always just smudgy and badly lit! >_<
And I’m reading this on friday, so yay for special announcements, I can’t wait XD

Ever since I started photography A level I’ve completely gone off digital photos for some reason… these pictures look really good. And I know what you mean about having to wait to see how they turned out… you sort of forget what you’ve taken photos of so when they’re developed it’s like they’re all completely new and exciting again. =)
Oh, and you and Jazza should so get married. =P

Oh Johnny, you are so cute! Looks like all of you had a fun blast in NYC. If you didn’t have an accent, I would think you were a New Yorker with the indie look on.

2 things …
1) I absolutely definitely *have* to go to New York - I’ve wanted to go there for ages now!
2) I’ve now got 3 of your amazing T-shirts and a pack of badges and I love them to bits!
Thank you Johnny! <3
